Substitute - After-School Program
Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Teaching is conducted in both Swedish and English, with English being the language of the corridors. IES is one of Sweden's largest school groups at the primary level with 43 schools and around 30,000 students across the country. IES has grown steadily and maintained quality since 1993.
IES Eskilstuna is one of the largest schools in Sweden with 1,185 students enrolled in grades F-9 and approximately 125 staff members.
IES Eskilstuna is now looking for substitutes for our after-school program. With us, you will make an important contribution to ensure that all students develop, learn, and grow based on their own conditions. You will support regular teachers during school hours and participate in after-school activities both indoors and outdoors. The ability to take initiative, communicate, and solve problems are particularly useful traits when working as a substitute.
Your responsibilities include:
- Supporting several students in their learning and social development, both in and outside the classroom
- Contributing to a safe and stimulating learning environment during lessons and breaks
- Assisting with indoor and outdoor activities
- Helping and supporting children in their development according to the curriculum

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is flexible and can step in as a substitute at short notice. You have completed your upper secondary education and have experience working with children and youth. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in a school or primary school, are studying to become a leisure leader/teacher in after-school programs, or have relevant education in the field.
As a person, you are responsible and enjoy taking your own initiative. You have a clear student focus. The work as a substitute involves many interactions, so it is important that you have a positive view of people and good collaboration skills. Above all, you have a passionate interest in children's and youth's learning and development.
We are looking for you who:
- Are passionate about working with children and youth
- Are flexible, adaptable, and easy to collaborate with
- Can build good relationships with our students, staff, and guardians
- Can contribute to a calm working environment in the student group and classroom
- Have good knowledge of Swedish and/or English
Communication is one of our most important tools in both the after-school program and school. Therefore, as a substitute, you must be fluent in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
